This is something that I stumbled upon. And I have to warn you it is my new favorite uber-addictive website. Pinterest.com
I have only been on Pinterest for a couple of days but it is already taking over my life in that staying up way to late to look over all the goodness. The inspiration and so many fun details you can make, buy, or even just add to your collection is so much fun. And get my juices flowing for all the possible things that I can do.
How many of you have files on you computer of images you’ve saved off the internet? I have so many files. From wedding inspiration to what I want my future office to look like. I love pulling ideas off the internet but one thing that it lacks is where did I get the images from? Pinterest is so handy because it does have links of where you got the image. And if you want to write a little something that you love about the image so you do not forget. YOU CAN!
Pinterest is a social media site that allows you to pin images of interest into boards that you’ve created. It’s like an online bulletin board of sorts. The possibilities are ENDLESS.
When you pin an image onto one of your boards, it saves the link back to the original site. So you can always click back and read up on the original context or give credit for where you found the image. And if you find something you love on someone else’s board, you can click through to find the original source website which can open up whole new worlds you didn’t even know existed. Can you see how fun and addicting this could be!?
Pinterest requires you to either be invited by a current user or to sign up on a waiting list before you can register and start pinning. Current users can invite a maximum of 6 people but the waiting list isn’t too long – only about a week or so. If you need an invitation, feel free to leave a comment below and I’ll invite the first few people who express interest.
Remember I have warned you of the addiction. HAVE FUN!
